How to Display Custom Fields In PDF Invoices & Packing Slips

This feature allows you to include custom checkout fields created using the Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce plugin in PDF documents generated by the WooCommerce PDF Invoices & Packing Slips (by WP Overnight) plugin. It ensures that any additional information collected during checkout is also reflected in invoices and packing slips for better order clarity and documentation.

To display fields in PDF Invoices:

1. Navigate to WooCommerce → Checkout Form → Advanced Settings → General
2. Enable the option “Enable PDF Invoice & Packing Slip support.”
3. Select the required fields from the Invoice Fields multi-select box.
4. Click Save Changes to apply the settings.

To display fields in Packing Slips:

1. Navigate to WooCommerce → Checkout Form → Advanced Settings → General
2. Enable the option “Enable PDF Invoice & Packing Slip support.”
3. Select the required fields from the Packing Slip Fields multi-select box.
4. Click Save Changes to save your configuration.

To generate PDF Invoices and Packing Slips:

1. Install and activate the WooCommerce PDF Invoices & Packing Slips plugin.
2. Navigate to WooCommerce > Orders.
3. Open any individual order.
4. Scroll down to the bottom of the order page and locate the Create PDF section.
5. From this section, choose either Invoice or Packing Slip, depending on the document you want to generate.
   

Use case
Consider a store that offers additional paid options such as gift wrapping or priority processing using pricing fields. When a customer selects one of these options during checkout, the extra cost is added to the order total.
By enabling this feature and selecting the relevant pricing field, the chosen option along with its additional price will also be displayed in the generated invoice and packing slip. This provides complete transparency for both the store owner and the customer, ensuring all charges are clearly documented.
