Adding Apple Pay to Apple Devices for a Safer Transaction

Last updated on October 22, 2025

You can use your daily Apple devices to securely purchase and transfer money. This is much easier and safer than a physical card. Start credit, debit, and prepaid cards on your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, or Mac.

To set up Apple Pay in the supported regions, you will need the following:

  • An eligible device.
  • A supported card from a participating card issuer
  • The latest version of iOS, watchOS, or macOS
  • An Apple ID

To use Apple Pay on your mobile phone, you must first add the card to your certified device. To use Apple Pay from several devices, you will need to add a card to each device. You can add multiple cards to each device with up to 12 cards on Apple Watch Series 3, iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and up to 8 cards on previous models.

After setting up Apple Pay on your iPhone or Apple Watch, you can use the card on Mac models on the Safari web.

  1. Go to the wallet app on your iPhone and tap `+`.
  2. Follow the steps to add the card. If you support debit, credit, or prepaid cards for use with iTunes, enter the card’s security code and then tap next. Otherwise, scan your iPhone camera for supported cards and fill in the additional information you need.
  3.  After reviewing the information, the bank or card issuer will decide whether the card can be used with Apple Pay.
  4. You will be asked to provide further information. If your bank or card ID is required to verify your card. Dependencies on review methods are given by email, text, or call. If you have any information, go back to Setting -> Wallet & Apple Pay and tap your card.
