How to Add Custom Fields to CSV Export?

Last updated on October 6, 2026

The Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce plugin does not include a built-in import/export feature. However, the premium version is compatible with third-party export plugins, allowing you to include custom checkout fields in CSV exports.

Classic checkout csv export

Supported Export Plugins
You can export custom checkout fields using:

  • WooCommerce Customer / Order / Coupon Export (by SkyVerge)
  • Advanced Order Export for WooCommerce (by AlgolPlus)

Method 1: Using Customer / Order / Coupon Export for WooCommerce (SkyVerge)

Step 1: Enable CSV Export Support

  1. Go to WooCommerce → Checkout Form → Advanced Settings → General
  2. Navigate to the CSV Export Fields section.
  3. Enable the option “Enable CSV Export support”.
  4. Select the required fields from the CSV export columns multi-select box.
  5. Click Save Changes.

Step 2: Export the Data

  1. Go to WooCommerce → Export.
  2. Select the Export Type, Output Type etc
  3. Click the Export button.
  4. A popup will appear, and the export will be generated automatically as a CSV file.
  5. Open the Downloaded CSV file.

Method 2: Using Advanced Order Export for WooCommerce (AlgolPlus)

Step 1: Prepare the Data

  1. Create custom checkout fields using the plugin.
  2. Place a test order to ensure the field values are saved.

Step 2: Configure Export Fields

  1. Go to WooCommerce → Export Orders.
  2. Open the Export now tab.
  3. Navigate to Set up fields to export section.
  4. Click Add Field.
  5. From the Meta Key dropdown, select the custom field you created.
  6. Enter a Column Name (this will appear as the header in the CSV file).
  7. Click Confirm.
  8. Drag the field into the export column area.

Step 3: Export Orders

  1. Save the settings.
  2. Run the Export to download the CSV file.

Notes

  • Ensure that at least one order is placed with the custom field data before exporting.
  • Some field types (such as date pickers) may display better when opened in Google Sheets instead of spreadsheet applications like Excel.
  • You can use either of the supported plugins based on your workflow requirements.
